MINNESOTA WILD RECALLS NATHAN SMITH FROM HOUSTON

Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Nathan Smith from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild also placed center/left wing Benoit Pouliot on injured reserve. Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced the team has recalled left wing Brandon Buck from the Florida Everblades (ECHL).

AEROS, HOUSTON FOOD BANK TEAM UP TO FIGHT HUNGER

The Houston Aeros are once again teaming up with the Houston Food Bank to host food drives during Friday and Sunday’s games against the Milwaukee Admirals. Fans who bring three non-perishable food items will receive a coupon for a free ticket with the purchase of a regular-priced ticket to the Aeros’ December 13 game against the Rockford IceHogs.

MOVEMBER SWEEPS MONTH WITH JAMIE FRASER

Houston Aeros’ defenseman Jamie Fraser is growing out his “mo.” The “mo,” Australian for moustache, is to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research for Movember. Movember is an annual month-long event across the globe that involves men growing out their moustaches during the month of November. The moustache is a symbol for prostate cancer, similar to the pink ribbon for breast cancer.
