HOUSTON, Texas The American Hockey Leagues Houston Aeros have increased their attendance from a previous season for the third consecutive season, the team announced Friday after drawing 8,291 to its final regular season home game at Toyota Center. The Aeros welcomed 232,003 fans this season for an average of 5,800, up from totals of 5,670 and 223,712 in 2004-05, and 5,363 and 214,508 in 2003-04.
The Aeros' average attendance of 5,800 ranks them 10th in the 27-team American Hockey League, up two spots from their 2004-05 finish, and second in the West Division behind Chicago (7,799). The Aeros are one of six AHL teams to currently sport an increase in attendance in 2005-06.
