MINNESOTA WILD SIGNS DEFENSEMAN RILEY EMMERSON
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed defenseman Riley Emmerson to a contract.
Emmerson, 20 (2/7/86), collected two points (1-1=2) and 109 penalty minutes (PIM) in 66 games with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL) last season and skated in two playoff contests with the Americans. The Burnaby, British Columbia-native is the tallest player in organization history at 6-foot-8 and weighs 230 pounds. The Wild selected Emmerson in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2005 Entry Draft.
Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
