GROUP OF 12 COMPRISE THE 2007-08 AERO DYNAMICS

HOUSTON, Texas – Shoppers expecting to enjoy a nice quiet day at the mall were in for a surprise last Saturday. Patrons of The Park Shops at Houston Center were greeted by nearly two dozen people in workout clothes stretching and dancing in the middle of walkways preparing for the Aero Dynamics tryouts (click here to see the video). Many were vying for a coveted few spots on the Dynamics roster where 11 walked away with the honors, joining Captain Tamara McKinney to form the team of 12.

A panel of highly qualified judges, including Captain Tamara, was on hand to sort through the vast talent. Among the chosen include six current and former University of Houston students and four returning Aero Dynamics members. Most have been performing over half their lives.

Gabriel Presas, Coordinator of Game Operations stated, “This year was one of our toughest tryouts. With a lot of deliberating, we have a fan friendly, energetic squad with a lot of dance experience.”

The new team members are Kelly, a U of H graduate who works for NASA; Emily, a U of H student who has danced for over 16 years; Kelly-Ryan, a U of H theatre student; Jenea, pursuing her Sociology and Training at U of H; Crissy, a graphic designer from the Art Institute of Houston; Candace, a Lieutenant Major in the military and Sam Houston State U. student; Brittany, a two-time All American Cheerleader from U of H; Tammy, a Dynamics veteran and TCU graduate; Lauren, a biology major from Sam Houston State U.; Steve, returning for his fourth year having began as a team stick boy six years ago; and Kenny, a life guard who also works game operations for the AFL2’s Texas Copperheads.

The Aero Dynamics were introduced in October of 1998 when the Aeros wanted a fun interactive team to execute all intermission and promotion activities. That year a co-ed team of five members were put together, and a new name and logo was created. Throughout the years this fun loving team attended community appearances and all Aeros home games. In 2003 the Aero Dynamics were revamped with the new Aeros team logo and colors to form two new teams: the Strike Force and Sonic Boom. Strike Force stayed with the same concept as the old Aero Dynamics but with an all male team, and the Sonic Boom was known for their dancing and enthusiasm. In April of 2006 the Aeros changed the logo back to the bomber and the Aero Dynamics were reborn! The Aero Dynamics have the same concept with a co-ed team but now a combination of dancing as well.

Keep checking www.aeros.com for team appearances throughout the season. Come welcome the new squad on October 6 for the Aeros home opener.
