HOUSTON, TX The Houston Aeros will honor National Football League local legend, Elvin Bethea this Saturday with a ceremonial puck drop at 7:00 p.m.
Bethea, inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio this year, played defensive end for the Houston Oilers for 16 seasons. He played guard and tackle, defensive end and linebacker for most of his football career. He was the first North Carolina A&T State University player to be named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played a total of 210 games in his career with the Oilers and made 105 sacks, leading him to the Pro Bowl eight times.
Houston Aeros President, Tom Garrity It is truly an honor and privilege to host Elvin Bethea to our Saturday night game. Were kicking off a series of Hall of Fame nights and thought it would be appropriate to start with Houstons own football hero.
The Aeros will give golf towels to the first 3,000 fans in attendance this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
