AEROS LOOK FOR FIRST WIN OVER CHICAGO THIS SEASON

     The Aeros renew its longest standing rivalry as they take on the Chicago Wolves in the 106th meeting between the two clubs today, 4:05 p.m. at Toyota Center. The Aeros lost 7-2 to Grand Rapids before defeating the Griffins 1-0 in overtime last night. Chicago made the trip from Cedar Park, TX late last night after topping the Texas Stars 5-2. This is the fourth of eight games between Houston and Chicago this season, their next meeting is Saturday (2/20) at Chicago.

AEROS NOTES

Overtime - The Aeros improved to 9-7 after regulation this season, including 6-6 in overtime and 3-1 in shootouts. Last night was the Aeros 16th overtime game this season, only Bridgeport (20) has played more. The 12 overtime decisions leads all AHL clubs.


3-in-3 - Houston is finishing its third of seven 3-in-3s this season and first home 3-in-3 since March 19-21, 2008. Houston has just seven 3-in-3s this season after 15 last season. This weekend also marks the first of three consecutive 3-in-3s - the team plays at Milwaukee, Chicago and Peoria next weekend before playing vs. Manitoba, at Texas and vs. Texas Feb. 25-27. Houston is 1-1-0-0 in the third game of 3-in-3s this season.


Tight Division - The Aeros currently sit four points out of a playoff spot and seven points behind first place Chicago entering today's game. Houston is 13-15-5-0 against the West Division this season. The Aeros will play 23 of the final 25 games within the division.


Second Period Shots - The Aeros have outshot their opponents 536 to 463 in the second period this season. It is the only period the Aeros hold an advantage in shots on goal over their opponents.


Squadron Leaders - RW J-M Daoust leads the team with 42 points (17-25=42) after his OT GWG last night. RW Jon DiSalvatore leads the club with 18 goals scored while D Maxim Noreau leads the Aeros with 27 assists. LW Matt Kassian's 103 PIM is tops among the Aeros.


Gamer-Winners - Daoust scored his third GWG of the season last night, tying him with DiSalvatore, RW Danny Irmen, and C Nathan Smith for the club lead.


Milestones - DiSalvatore is two games away from his 500th in the AHL. RW Duncan Milroy is one game away from his 400th in the AHL.

     The Aeros begin its second of three consecutive 3-in-3s in Milwaukee, 7 p.m. Friday (2/19), followed by a 7 p.m. puck drop in Chicago Saturday (2/20) and a 5 p.m. game in Peoria Sunday (2/21).
