BOXSCORE

The Aeros hadn’t scored the first goal in seven straight and nine of their last 10 games entering Wednesday’s game. Gillies broke that streak at the 6:15 mark of the first period. RW Danny Irmen found Gillies alone behind the Rampage net where he threw on the breaks catching Tordjman out of position and stuffed home a wrap-around bid for his sixth of the year. C Chad Rau was credited with the secondary assist.

San Antonio tallied the game-tying goal 2:59 into the middle stanza. C Kyle Turris fired the initial shot that deflected off the end glass and found the stick of RW David Spina behind the Aeros’ cage. Spina sent a shot toward the back of Khudobin which was deflected to the ice and over the goal line by LW Brett MacLean.

Houston retook the lead at 7:00 of the third period off a power play goal from Fraser. RW Jon DiSalvatore found the Aeros defenseman in the slot where he whistled a shot on net that deflected off Rampage D Shaun Heshka and past Tordjman for the goal. The goal is Fraser's third in as many games extending his point streak to a season-high five games (3-2=5). Noreau made it 3-1 when his wrister found the twine at 10:09 off helpers from D J.P. Testwuide and DiSalvatore. It’s Noreau's third goal in as many games against San Antonio.

The Rampage cut the lead to a goal with 4:49 left in regulation off the stick of Turris, and with 12.3 seconds left in regulation LW Stefan Meyer sent the game to overtime tipping home a point bid from Boedker.

Neither team was able to score in the overtime period and in the end it was Boedker who scored the eventual game-winner in the first round of the shootout. San Antonio outshot the Aeros 33-25. Both clubs scored a power play goal with the Aeros going 1-for-3 on the man advantage and San Antonio converted 1-of-5 chances.

The Aeros host the Rampage Friday night at Toyota Center for their fourth of five straight State Farm Lone Star Faceoff contests. Game time is scheduled for 7:35 pm. and will be televised live on Fox Sports Houston as well as
ahllive.com. Communications Manager Robert Desimone will have the call on 1070 AM-KNTH. The Aeros will wear their alternate red sweaters for the third time this season and encourage fans to wear red in support of the team.
