HOUSTON --- The American Hockey League’s (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, today announced that Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher has recalled LW Colton Gillies to Minnesota.
Gillies, 21, was the 16th overall pick of the Wild in the 2007 NHL draft. He played in 45 games with the Wild two seasons ago and posted seven points (2-5-7) and 18 penalty minutes (PIM). Gillies played the entire 2009-10 season with Houston and in 72 games produced 20 points (7-13-20) and 73 PIM. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound White Rock, BC, native played junior hockey for the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League.
The Wild play host to the Vancouver Canucks tonight at 8 p.m.
The Aeros resume play this Friday against the Peoria Rivermen. Face off at Toyota Center is 7:35 p.m. After visiting San Antonio on Saturday, the Aeros return home at 4:05 p.m. Sunday versus the Lake Erie Monsters.
