HOUSTON - Houston Aeros President and General Manager Dave Barr announced today that the Minnesota Wild (National Hockey League) have recalled center Rickard Wallin. Also, the Aeros have assigned defenseman Remi Royer to the Reading Royals (East Coast Hockey League).
Wallin, 22, (4/19/80), has recorded 20 points (7-13-20) in 24 games during his rookie season for the Aeros. He leads the team in plus/minus (+13) and ranks third in assists (13) and points (20). The Stockholm, Sweden native was acquired by Minnesota from Phoenix in exchange for center Joe Juneau on June 23, 2000. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder played 50 games for Farjestad of the Swedish Elite League last season and ranked second on the club in points with 43 (12-31=43) and assists (31). Royer, 24, (2/12/78), played in three games for Houston and had 15 penalty minutes.
The Houston Aeros host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers tomorrow and Friday at Compaq Center. Thursdays game is Casino Night. The concourse will be decorated in a Las Vegas theme and fans will be able to play games for the chance to win numerous prizes. On Friday, all Jasons get in free.
