MINNESOTA WILD SIGNS FORWARD BRETT BULMER TO ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed left wing Brett Bulmer to a three-year, entry-level contract. He will join the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of the Calder Cup Playoffs. The Aeros also signed defenseman Colton Jobke to an amateur tryout contract (ATO).

Bulmer, 18 (4/26/92), recorded 49 points (18-31=49) and 109 penalty minutes (PIM) in 57 games with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season. He set new career-highs in goals, assists, points and PIM despite missing 15 games due to injury. Bulmer added four power-play goals and three game-winning tallies. The 6-foot-3, 186-pound native of Prince George, B.C., ranked second on the team in PIM and tied for third in assists. He recorded six points (4-2=6) in 10 playoff contests as the Rockets dropped its second round series to the Portland Winterhawks. Bulmer was selected by Minnesota in the second round (No. 39) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Jobke, 18, appeared in 51 games with Kelowna this season and recorded 10 points (1-9-10) along with 84 PIM. The 6-foot, 170-pound Delta, BC, native also appeared in nine playoff games and registered seven PIM.

The Aeros swept their opening round series in the Calder Cup Playoffs with a 4-0 series win over the Peoria Rivermen. The team will play either the Milwaukee Admirals or Texas Stars in the second round of the playoffs. That series is currently tied at 2-2.
