WILD RECALLS CODY ALMOND
HOUSTON (DECEMBER 1 2011) --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Cody Almond from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Almond, 22 (7/24/89), has posted seven points (2-5=7) and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 10 games with the Aeros, after missing the beginning of the season due to injury. Last year with the Wild, Almond played eight games without recording a point. Almond totaled a career-high 34 points (15-19=34) in 65 games with Houston in 2010-11, adding six points in 22 playoff games as the Aeros advanced to the Calder Cup Finals. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, was drafted by the Wild in the fifth round (No. 140 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Almond wears No. 27 with the Wild.
The Aeros, who have notched standings points in seven consecutive games (4-0-2-1) and own the fewest regulation losses in the American Hockey League, visit Rochester on Friday (6:35 p.m. CST) and Toronto on Saturday (2 p.m. CST).
