AEROS SIGN MIKE MONTGOMERY TO PTO

HOUSTON (DECEMBER 9, 2011) --- Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) team has added defenseman Mike Montgomery to a professional tryout (PTO).

Montgomery, 25 (10/10/86), is in his first professional season. He joins the Aeros after appearing in 18 games with the Ontario (Calif.) Reign of the ECHL.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Lino Lakes, Minn., native played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He registered 38 points (4-34=38) and 42 penalty minutes (PIM) in 132 games. He served as team captain last season when the Bulldogs claimed their first-ever NCAA Championship.

The Aeros host the San Antonio Rampage tonight at 7:35 p.m. and return home on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. against Peoria.
