AEROS 40 EVENTS-40 DAYS - WE'RE IN, ARE YOU?

HOUSTON ---
The American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros will not play a home game from Feb. 6 to March 10, but that won’t keep the organization from interacting with fans throughout the longest road trip in team history. Starting on Feb. 1, the Aeros will conduct 40 events in 40 days under the “Aeros 40 Events-40 Days; We’re In, Are You?” banner.

“The purpose of the campaign is to connect directly with our fans and the community as a whole,” Aeros President David Burke said. “The Aeros will be hosting a variety of fun events over those 40 days focused on different charities, families, the city of Houston and our great fans.  The front office, along with players and coaches, will do things like visit hospitals and homeless shelters, compete in a 5K benefiting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, supporting other Houston teams at their games, deliver over 1,000 books to Harbach-Ripley Promise Community School, and deliver Valentine’s Day cards to DePelchin Children’s Center.”

The logo for the campaign shows a silhouette of the Houston skyline along with the title “We’re In, Are You?” wrapped in a circular outline. “The logo and slogan represent our commitment to being active and engaged community partners,” Burke explained.

Fans can keep track of “Aeros 40 Events-40 Days; We’re In, Are You?” by visiting the official Houston Aeros Facebook page (Facebook.com/houstonaeros) or Aeros.com.

The campaign kicks off on Feb. 1 from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Ice at the Galleria, when an Aeros-wrapped ice resurfacer will be unveiled. Aeros forward Jeff Taffe, team mascot Chilly and members of the Aero Dynamics will be on hand. Fans who wear an Aeros item can skate for just $10 (skates included), a savings of $2.50.

The Houston Aeros serve as the top development affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and play home games at Toyota Center. Over 70 Aeros have gone on to play in the NHL. Visit Aeros.com for schedule and ticket info.
