HOUSTON AEROS ASSIGN GINAND AND PETERSEN TO ORLANDO
Aeros Return to Home Ice on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

Houston, TX – Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Monday that forwards Ryan Ginand and Nick Petersen have been assigned to the Orlando Solar Bears, the Aeros ECHL affiliate.

Ginand was scoreless in his Aeros debut in Rockford on Friday, his only appearance with Houston this season. At the time of his recall, the 26-year old was second among active Orlando skaters with 14 points in 14 games played. The Milford, MA native was also tied for the Solar Bears team lead with 11 assists. In 2010-11, Ginand played in eight AHL games for the Albany Devils, scoring two goals and setting up six others for eight points. In 122 career ECHL games, GInand has scored 46 goals and added 70 assists for 116 points. Ginand played in Italy last season, scoring 27 goals and totaling 51 points in 44 games with Vipiteno.

Petersen was scoreless in two games for the Aeros last week, his only appearances with the team this season. At the time of his recall, Petersen was leading the Solar Bears in scoring with 19 points, off eight goals and 11 assists in 14 games. The 23-year old is in his third full season of pro hockey after splitting the last two seasons between Wilkes-Barre Scranton (AHL) and Wheeling (ECHL). In 77 AHL games, the right wing has 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points. He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (#121 overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to returning to home ice, the Aeros will play in San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Houston will host the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 5:05 p.m. This season every Sunday is a Family Day, where families can purchase a package with parking, four tickets and four Aeros gifts, starting at $54.
