It's a pretty simple formula on Easter Sunday. The winner of the Aeros/Griffins game at Toyota Center will share third place with Cincinnati. The loser will drop into fifth, either one or two points behind the third place teams. The top four from each division make the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Grand Rapids is the AHL's hottest team, racking up five straight wins, and four straight on the road. Netminder Joey MacDonald has made 16 straight starts, and is showing no signs of slowing down. Friday, he made 47 saves, including seven in overtime, and then stopped five-of-six shootout attempts as the Griffins rallied for a dramatic 3-2 win in Houston. They followed that up with a 2-1 victory last night in San Antonio.
Following tonight's game, there will be an Easter Egg hunt. Make sure to bring your camera to have your kids' pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.
