HOUSTON ADVANCES TO CONFERENCE FINALS

Aeros play in Conference Finals for fourth time in five years



HOUSTON – The Houston Aeros advanced to the Western Conference Finals with a win over the Norfolk Admirals in Game Six of the semifinals series. Houston now faces the top team in the American Hockey League’s Western Conference, the Grand Rapids Griffins (primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings).



The Western Conference Finals schedule is as follows:

Game One: Monday, May 12 at 6:00 PM Grand Rapids

Game Two: Wednesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM Grand Rapids

Game Three: Friday, May 16 at 7:30 PM Compaq Center (Ticket K)

Game Four: Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 PM Compaq Center (Ticket L)

Game Five*: Monday, May 19 at 7:00 PM Compaq Center (Ticket M)

Game Six*: Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00 PM Grand Rapids

Game Seven*: Thursday, May 22 at 6:00 PM Grand Rapids

The Aeros played Grand Rapids ten times during the 2002-03 season. Houston posted four wins, five losses and one tie versus the Griffins. Grand Rapids finished first in the AHL’s Western Conference, two points ahead of Houston. The teams have not faced each other in the playoffs before.



Tickets for the Conference Finals series go on sale at Ticketmaster on Thursday, May 8 at 10:00 AM. Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 713/629-3700 or online www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also can be purchased in person at Ticketmaster outlets located in Fiesta’s, Foleys or Wherehouse music.
