ERIK REITZ NAMED AS STARTER IN AHL ALL-STAR GAME
HOUSTON, Texas – The American Hockey League (AHL) announced today that
Houston Aeros’ defenseman
Erik Reitz has been assigned to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team for the 2008 All-Star Classic presented by Reebok. Reitz was voted in by fans as a starter, his first AHL All-Star Classic appearance, for the team comprised of players born outside of Canada. The game will be played on Monday, January 28 in Binghamton, New York with a skills competition on Sunday, January 27.
Other starters for the PlanetUSA team are:
Tuukka Rask – Providence goaltender,
Matt Lashoff – Providence defenseman,
Joakim Lindstrom – Syracuse forward,
Bobby Ryan – Portland forward and
Brett Sterling – Chicago Forward.
A total of 24 players – 13 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders – make up the team.
