MINNESOTA WILD DEVELOPMENT CAMP BEGINS TOMORROW

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced that the organization will hold a development camp for team prospects July 8-14 at Xcel Energy Center. Ten of the 27 players scheduled to attend camp spent time with the Wild's primary affiliate, the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL), during the 2007-08 season.

The seven-day camp will focus on the development of the organization’s top young prospects in both on-ice and off-ice settings. Minnesota Wild coaches Mario Tremblay, Mike Ramsey, Bob Mason and Matt Shaw along with Houston Aeros coaches Kevin Constantine, Luke Strand and Troy Ward will lead the on-ice sessions. The players will also participate in daily strength and conditioning education sessions and receive nutritional instruction.

The Wild's 2008 Developement Camp will host 17 players that were selected by Minnesota in the NHL Entry Draft. Players scheduled to attend include the team’s last four first round draft picks: Tyler Cuma (2008), Colton Gillies (2007), James Sheppard (2006) and Benoit Pouliot (2005).

Players who skated with the Aeros during the 2007-08 season include forwards Cal Clutterbuck, Gillies, Ryan Hamilton, Petr Kalus, Matt Kassian, Morten Madsen and Pouliot, defensemen Paul Albers and Maxim Noreau and goaltender Anton Khudobin. Click here to see a full camp roster.

Aeros' season ticket packages are available now and can be ordered today by calling (713) 974-PUCK. Packages include the popular “Elite Fleet” which includes 40 games for the price of 30.
