MINNESOTA WILD RECALLS RIGHT WING CAL CLUTTERBUCK
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled right wing Cal Clutterbuck from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and placed defenseman Marek Zidlicky on Injured Reserve due to an ankle injury suffered Sept. 26 at Chicago.
Clutterbuck, 20 (11/18/87), appeared in two games with the Wild last season making his NHL debut at Colorado on Oct. 28, 2007. The 5-foot-10, 216-pound native of Welland, Ontario recorded 24 points (11-13=24) and 97 penalty minutes (PIM) in 73 games in his first professional season with the Aeros in 2007-08. Clutterbuck was originally selected by Minnesota in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear sweater #22 with the Wild.
The Aeros stay at home this week and play the San Antonio Rampage in a home-and-home series starting Saturday night at Toyota Center. Saturday's 7:35 p.m. game is also Houston's 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Be sure to come out and show support for such a great cause! Ticket packages include a limited edition pink puck with a certain dollar amount from each package being donated to Susan G. Komen Houston Affiliate.
