MINNESOTA WILD RECALLS LW OLVECKY, PLACE C/LW KOLANOS ON WAIVERS
HOUSTON, Texas – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing Peter Olvecky (ohl-VEHT-skee) from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild has placed center/left wing Krys Kolanos on waivers.
Olvecky, 23 (10/11/85), has posted 23 points (6-17=23) in 41 games with the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Trencin, Slovakia, is in his fourth season with Houston, totaling 115 points (49-66=115) and 171 penalty minutes in 238 games. Olvecky was the Wild’s third-round pick (No. 78 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear No. 28 with the Wild. This is Olvecky’s first NHL recall.
Kolanos, 27 (7/27/81), has recorded six points (3-3=6) in 19 games with the Wild this season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Calgary, AB, has tallied 22 points (15-7=22) in 19 games with Houston this season. Kolanos was the Phoenix Coyotes first-round pick (No. 19 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
