"I thought our guys worked real hard," said Head Coach Kevin Constantine. "All you ask from your players on a game where both teams have played three in three is that you make look slower than you do on a rested night, but you've got to still out work the other team because they have the same conditions as us."

The teams played to a scoreless first period as the Wolves out-shot the Aeros 9-6. The teams combined for 24 penalty minutes including a fight between Wolves LW Josh Gratton and Aeros LW Matt Kassian. Krog put the Wolves on the board at 5:44 of the second period with an assist from LW Brett Sterling.

The Aeros entered the game scoring power-play goals in three consecutive games and Smith continued that streak with a one-timer over the shoulder of Mannino to tie the game 1-1 at 11:53 of the second period. It was the fifth power-play goal for the Aeros in the last four games after going 46 consecutive power-plays without a goal.

The Wolves took the lead at 17:18 with LW Colton Gillies in the penalty box for interference. Krog and D Arturs Kulda set up Machacek for the game-winning goal. It is the first time this season the Aeros allowed power-play goals in back-to-back games.

Houston out-shot Chicago 6-3 in the final period but were unable to find the tying marker. The Aeros finished the game out-shooting the Wolves 27-23 on the game; Houston went 1-for-4 on the power-play while the Wolves finished 1-for-5 on the night. RW Danny Irmen ended his five-game point streak, RW Jon DiSalvatore registered an assist on Smith’s goal and now leads the team with 11 points (3-8-11) on the season.

The Aeros continue their four-game home stand Wednesday vs. Peoria, 7:05 at Toyota Center. Houston will also host Milwaukee Friday and Sunday at Toyota Center. Sunday is the Aeros Second Annual Chilly’s Pet Pal’s Game. For more information call (713) 974-PUCK (7825) or visit www.aeros.com. Listen to the games live on 1070 AM KNTH or at www.ahllive.com.
