AEROS FINISH THREE-GAME HOMESTAND TOMORROW


    

    The Houston Aeros finish their season series with Grand Rapids tonight, 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center. The Aeros are 2-3-0-0 against Grand Rapids this season after the Griffins' 7-2 victory last night. The Aeros play its second of three consecutive games this weekend, hosting the Chicago Wolves tomorrow, 4:05 p.m. from Toyota Center. AEROS NOTES
3-in-3 - The Aeros are playing their third of seven 3-in-3s this season and first home 3-in-3 since March 19-21, 2008. The Aeros have just seven 3-in-3s this season after 14 last season. This weekend also marks the first of three consecutive 3-in-3s, the team plays at Milwaukee, Chicago and Peoria next weekend before playing vs. Manitoba, at Texas and vs. Texas Feb. 25-27. Houston is 8-4-2-0 in the second game of back-to-backs.

Aeros vs. North - The Aeros are 12-6-1-0 against North Division opponents (5-2-1-0 at Home) including a 2-3-0-0 mark against Grand Rapids.

Squadron Leaders - RW J-M Daoust recorded one assist last night to take over the team lead in points with 41 (16-25=41). RW Jon DiSalvatore leads the club with 18 goals scored while D Maxim Noreau leads the Aeros with 26 assists. LW Matt Kassian's 101 PIM is tops among the Aeros.

Playoff Race - The Aeros are looking to make the playoffs for the 14th time in 16 seasons. The team is currently five points behind Milwaukee for the West Division's fourth and final playoff spot and eight points behind the West Division leading Rockford Ice Hogs.

Gamer-Winners - Forwards Danny Irmen, Nathan Smith and DiSalvatore are tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with three. In all, 13 different Aeros skaters have recorded at least one game-winner this season.

Mr. Power Play - Of DiSalvatore's 40 points this season, 23 have come on the man advantage (10-13=23). The closest pursuer is Noreau with 18 power play points (3-15=18).

Career Year - Daoust's 41 points (16-25=41) through 54 games played this season surpasses his previous AHL career season-high 28 points (10-1828) set last season in 58 games with the Wilkes/Barre Scranton Penguins.

Milestones - DiSalvatore is four game away from his 500th in the AHL. RW Duncan Milroy is three games away from his 400th in the AHL.
