SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Minnesota Wild Executive Vice President/General Manager Doug Risebrough announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed left wing Jeremy Stevenson to a contract. Stevenson is currently playing for the Houston Aeros, the Wilds primary development in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Stevenson, 28 (7/28/72), has totaled five points (3-2=5) in six games, ranks third on the team in penalty minutes (50) and has registered a +4 plus/minus rating. The 6-foot-2, 218 pound winger spent most of last season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL where he recorded 19 points (12-7=19) in 53 games along with 192 penalty minutes. The San Bernardino, California native has played parts of the last six seasons in the NHL for the Nashville Predators and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Stevenson was originally selected by Anaheim in the 11th round (262nd overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Stevenson began the season under contract to the Houston Aeros. He will continue to play for the Aeros unless he is recalled to Minnesota.
