AEROS POSTGAME REPORT
MARCH 2, 2011: HOU 8, RFD 1

HOUSTON --- Jon DiSalvatore scored twice, Marco Scandella had two goals and an assist while Patrick O’Sullivan, Max Noreau and J.M. Daoust registered a goal and two assists each as the Houston Aeros rolled past the Rockford IceHogs 8-1 on Wednesday night at Toyota Center.

The Aeros set a franchise record and AHL season high with a six power play goal outburst. The eight goals scored marked a season-high and tied a franchise record, most recently set on March 12, 2005, in an 8-0 win over San Antonio.

Colton Gillies also scored for the Aeros, who have won three of their last four games.

Houston scored three times in the first period, four times in the second and once in the third en route to the win, which pulled the Aeros within two points of the West Division lead held by the Milwaukee Admirals. Milwaukee defeated Hamilton 5-4 in overtime on Wednesday night.

Brandon Bollig ruined Matt Hackett’s shutout bid with a shorthanded tally at the 12:04 mark of the third. Hackett made 23 saves for the win.

The Aeros return to action this Wednesday night at home in the second of back-to-back games against the IceHogs. Call 713-974-7825 (PUCK) for more information on Aeros tickets and other promotions.
