Goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 34 saves as the Houston Aeros earned a standings point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Oklahoma City Barons Thursday afternoon in front of 8,175 fans during the annual School Kid's Day Game at Toyota Center.

AEROS POSTGAME REPORT
DEC. 8: OKC 2, HOU 1


HOUSTON
--- Goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 34 saves as the Houston Aeros earned a standings point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Oklahoma City Barons Thursday afternoon in front of 8,175 fans during the annual School Kid's Day Game at Toyota Center.

The point pulled the Aeros into a tie for first place with the Barons in the American Hockey League's Western Conference.

Houston was stymied by Barons goaltender Yann Danis until the 18:00 minute mark of the third period when Jarod Palmer swept home his fourth goal of the season. Drew Bagnall earned the assist.

Oklahoma City's Alex Plante scored on the power play 14:38 into the middie period to break a scoreless tie.

Josh Green's shootout goal in the fifth round gave the Barons the extra point and a win for the fifth time in six games.

The Aeros host the San Antonio Rampage on Friday at 7:35 p.m. Fans who arrive early will receive an Aeros wearable blanket courtesy Sunny 99.1 FM.

BOMB DROPPINGS
The Minnesota Wild recalled Jeff Taffe prior to the game... Carson McMillan returned to the lineup after missing six games with an injury... The Aeros have standings points in 10 of 12 home games, including the last five in a row... Houston is 6-1-0-2 in Kid's Day games dating back to the 2003-04 season...
