Jeff Taffe and Kris Foucault each had a goal and an assist to lead the Houston Aeros in a 5-3 win over the San Antonio Rampage Saturday night at the Toyota Center in front of a sellout crowd of 9,006.

AEROS POSTGAME REPORT
APRIL 14: HOU 5, SA 3

HOUSTON ---
  Jeff Taffe and Kris Foucault each had a goal and an assist to lead the Houston Aeros in a 5-3 win over the San Antonio Rampage Saturday night at the Toyota Center in front of a sellout crowd of 9,006.

Joel Broda, Chad Rau and Justin Fontaine also scored for the Aeros and Chay Genoway dished out two assists for Houston, which improves to 34-25-5-11 and 84 points and is a point out of the eighth playoff spot in the AHL's Western Conference. Matt Hackett finished with 19 saves.

Taffe scored a power play goal at 22 seconds into the second period to put Houston up 1-0, and Joel Broda extended the lead to 2-0 at 2:50 in the second.

Foucault scored 29 seconds later to make it 3-0, and Rau upped the lead to 4-0 at 8:01 in the second with a power play goal.

San Antonio cut the lead to 4-1 with a goal by Bracken Kearns at 19:30 in the second, and Greg Rallo scored twice in the third to make it 4-3.

Fontaine, however, sealed the win with an empty net power play goal at 19:09 in the third period to make it 5-3.

The Aeros end the regular season Sunday against the Texas Stars at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.

Jeff Taffe scored his first goal since March 25... Taffe recorded his second assist in four games... Chad Rau has goals in two of the last four games and three of the last six games... Nick Palmieri has assists in two of the last three games and points in five of the last seven games (3-3=6)... Justin Fontaine scored his first goal since March 16 against Rockford... Fontaine has points in five of his last seven games (1-5=6)... Drew Bagnall has assists in three of the last five games and four of the last seven games... Houston's four goals in the second period are the most in a single period the Aeros have scored this year.
