HOUSTON - Houston Aeros President and General Manager Dave Barr announced today goaltender Dieter Kochan was reassigned by the Minnesota Wild (National Hockey League).
Kochan, 28, was recalled by Minnesota on January 7 afer Wild goalie Manny Fernandez strained his knee. Kochan played in one game with the Wild on January 29 in Edmonton. He stopped 23 of 28 shots in the 5-1 loss.
Kochan started the season with Houston and had recorded a five-game win streak prior to being recalled. He has posted 13 wins, five losses and two ties for the Aeros this season. He will be available to play tomorrow night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The game will be televised on KTBU-55 "The Tube" at 6:00 PM.
After Houston wraps up the seven-game road trip on Saturday, the team takes five days off for the All-Star break. They play in Chicago on Feb. 7 and return home on Feb. 9 to host Milwaukee. The Aeros are sending five representatives to the All-Star Game. Left wing Jean-Guy Trudel, defenseman Travis Roche and defenseman Curtis Murphy are playing for the Canadian All-Star Team. Goaltender Derek Gustafson and Head Coach Todd McLellan are part of the PlanetUSA All-Star Team.
