AEROS SIGN LUNDBOHM, JAMES, PETERS

HOUSTON, Texas – The American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros have signed center Bryan Lundbohm, left wing Mike James and defenseman Colin Peters, general manager Tom Lynn announced Wednesday.

Lundbohm, 28 (8/24/77) has spent most of the last five seasons with the Aeros’ West Division rival, the Milwaukee Admirals. In 234 games with Milwaukee, Lundbohm has posted 93 points (33-60=93) and 170 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of Roseau, Minn., played three collegiate seasons at powerhouse North Dakota. He chipped in 124 points (56-68=124) in 122 games with the Fighting Sioux. As UND’s captain in 2000-01, Lundbohm was a WCHA First Team All-Star, and was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and NCAA Second Team All-American. He led the WCHA and finished second in the nation in goals (32) that season. In 2000, he scored the game-winning goal for the Fighting Sioux against Maine in the National Semifinals.

James, 23 (2/21/82) comes off a standout season with the ECHL’s Johnstown Chiefs and Toledo Storm. The versatile winger combined for 34 points (12-22=34) and 235 minutes with the two teams. In an injury-plagued 2003-04 season, James contributed four points (1-3=4) and 73 penalty minutes in 20 games for Johnstown. The 6-foot, 187-pound James hails from Windsor, Ont. He played four junior seasons with OHL Ottawa, Windsor and Mississauga.

Peters, 23 (12/4/81) was a popular player in 2004-05. As a rookie, he spent most of the campaign with UHL Quad Cities, totaling six points (1-5=6) and 68 penalty minutes in 72 games. He earned three recalls to the AHL, playing seven games combined with Manchester, Portland and Chicago without registering a point. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound native of Eden Prairie, Minn., played four collegiate seasons at St. Cloud State, registering 21 points (6-15=21) in 143 games.
