Aeros rookie goalie Miroslav Kopriva, currently on assignment with Austin of the Central Hockey League, has been named the CHLs Goaltender of the Week.
Kopriva, who turned 22 today, has been remarkable in four starts since being assigned to the Ice Bats on November 17th. A sixth round draft pick of Minnesota in 2003, Kopriva has compiled an unblemished record of 4-0-0 with Austin. During the past week of
play he led the Ice Bats to a home and home sweep of division rival Corpus Christi, stopping 65 of 67 total shots. Thursday evening in Corpus Christi he made 31 saves in a 3-2 win, then recorded his first shutout of the season the following night on home ice, stopping all 34 Rayz shots in a 1-0 victory.
To date this season Kopriva has compiled a miniscule gaa of just 1.25, coupled with a .960 save percentage. Kopriva is 1-1-0 with a 4.33 gaa in three games with the Aeros.
