HOUSTON AEROS HOST 10TH ANNUAL TEDDY BEAR TOSS ON SUNDAY
Aeros Fans May Throw a Stuffed Animal for Charity
Houston, TX – The Houston Aeros will hold its annual “Teddy Bears Toss” night on Sunday, Dec. 16, when the team welcomes the Oklahoma City Barons to Toyota Center at 5:05 p.m.
Sunday marks the 10th annual Aeros Teddy Bear Toss for charity. Over the years, Houston hockey fans have thrown a stuffed animal on the ice when the team scores its first goal of the game. Hundreds of stuffed toys are collected and donated to various charities. This season, the Aeros are partnering with KHOU 11 to help with the station’s Secret Santa Toy Drive. Last season, the team collected nearly 1,500 stuffed animals for KHOU 11. The toys were distributed through the TV station and the Salvation Army to families throughout the Greater Houston area.
Since it began in 2001, KHOU 11’s toy drive has grown to become one of Houston’s largest toy collection efforts, generating nearly 25,000 gifts for area families in 2011. Donations collected at KHOU 11 and its partner locations will be distributed through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. For over 120 years, The Salvation Army has provided Christmas assistance for disadvantaged children and seniors in our community.
The Aeros will play a pair of games in Charlotte this Friday at 6:00 p.m.(CT) and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (CT). Houston returns home on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 5:05 p.m. to host Oklahoma City at Toyota Center. On Dec. 16, Houston will hold its yearly Teddy Bear Toss for charity. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to throw on the ice once the Aeros score their first goal of the night. Every Sunday throughout the season is Family Day, where fans may purchase four tickets, parking and four Aeros prizes starting at $54.
Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit. Once your order is processed, an Aeros ticket representative will contact you to choose your exact seat location, as well as discuss the payment options.
