HOUSTON SIGNS DEFENSEMAN TREVOR LUDWIG
Houston Rounds out Weekend with 5 p.m. faceoff versus Charlotte on Sunday
Houston, TX – Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Sunday that the club has signed defenseman Trevor Ludwig to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Ludwig joins the Aeros from the Allen Americans, Houston’s CHL affiliate. In 33 games for Allen, the 27-year old has six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. Over his five-year career, Ludwig has suited up in 142 AHL games for Texas, Manitoba, Syracuse, Iowa and Norfolk. Over his AHL career, Ludwig has scored four goals and added 14 assists for 18 points, to go along with 152 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (#183 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
His twin brother, Tyler Ludwig also plays in Allen and suited up for the Aeros last Sunday at Texas. Tyler was released from his PTO on Monday. Their father, Craig Ludwig played 17 seasons in the NHL for Montreal, Dallas, NY Islanders and Minnesota.
The Aeros host the Charlotte Checkers at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13. On Sunday, the team will hand out photos of “Chilly” to the first 2,000 fans, celebrating “Chilly’s Birthday”. Also, every Sunday throughout the season is a Family Day, where fans may purchase four tickets, parking and four Aeros prizes starting at $54. Houston will embark on a six-game road trip, returning back to Toyota Center after the All-Star break. The Aeros will host Texas on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit. Once your order is processed, an Aeros ticket representative will contact you to choose your exact seat location, as well as discuss the payment options.
